We had a look into this issue and discovered that it can be caused by a number of different factors including:

  • Outdated drivers – One of the most common reasons behind GSOD is outdated graphic drivers. Outdated drivers can cause corruption errors and bugs within the system, which results in issues like the one at hand.
  • Corruption errors/bugs – If in case the error started appearing after you installed a new application, then most likely the app has a corruption error or bug that is causing the GSOD. The same goes for unwanted applications. Applications that you don’t use can cause your system to perform poorly, use valuable resources, and even result in the Green Screen of Death.
  • Third-party antivirus interference – Oftentimes, third-party antivirus programs interfere with the operating system processes as a result of false positives. Unless you are surfing through risky websites frequently, it is best to disable these third-party services for the betterment of your system.

Operating systems often call upon your computer’s specialized hardware to enhance performance, which is called hardware acceleration. However, it is very common to run into error messages because of it. Since the browsers on your operating system use hardware acceleration as well, there is a chance that your browser’s hardware acceleration is responsible for the GSOD.

Here is how you can reset your PC:

  1. Press Windows + I keys simultaneously on your PC to open Windows Settings.
