Disney has been aggressively stepping hard to push into the gaming industry through their Marvel Franchises, LucasfilmGames, and 20th Century Labels, so the unveiling of a Disney and Marvel Games Showcase is turning out to be pretty exciting for the masses. The Disney and Marvel Showcase is set for September.
Disney and Marvel Showcase Set for September 9
The Showcase will spread out from this year’s D23 Expo and will be led by Kinda Funny’s Blessing Adeoye Jr. There’s a lot that’s been left out in regards to the details of the show, but we’ve been told that we’ll get a first look at an upcoming action-packed adventure-driven Marvel team game as reported by from the Uncharted creator, Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media Studio:
“The digital showcase will feature incredible new content from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games. In addition to all-new announcements, fans can expect new reveals from titles including Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and a sneak peek at the upcoming Marvel ensemble game from Skydance New Media.
Fans that are looking forwards to the D23 Expo 2022 in the flesh will be able to watch the live Showcase on the Premiere Stage. The presentation will also feature a live stream starring development interviews, exclusive giveaways as well as special guests. It’s on the D23 Expo show floor that fans can visit Aniplex’s Disney Twisted-Wonderland booth to learn more about the unique anime aesthetic inspired by iconic and memorable Disney Villains.
So, what else is coming to the show floor? The possibilities are quite endless, for that matter. In addition to Amy Hennig’s Marvel game, there’s also talk about a rumored Black Panther title being exclusively developed by EA games. Although you should look forward to more details and news in regards to Spider-Man 2 and the meticulously teased Wolverine, they won’t make it to the Disney Expo and are definitely going to be reserved for the PlayStation Showcase.
As for the LucasFilm front, we have exciting titles coming in the future, likes Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Wars Eclipse, Massive Entertainment’s open-world Star Wars game, and Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game. As for a range of Unreal Engine 5 games, we’ll get to enjoy games the likes of a new upcoming aliens game and the delayed Ubisoft title, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. So, this could be a massive showcase if Disney sees it fit.
