The Last of Us Part 1 Remake is in full swing as the remaster of the 2013 hit video game will feature fully overhauled character models, Raytraced lighting, 4K textures, redone animations, and a full 60FPS.
But when we take a closer look at the gameplay footage presented by Naughty Dog, all of these implementations haven’t been showcased in the best light.
There’s no denying the fact that the Last of Us looks incredible on the PS5 with a revamped AI and improves visuals across the border, which enhance the overall immersion of the game.
The character models for the players have improved as well, and they needed to be. They steered away from the more cartoony style to full-on photorealistic character models. That term hasn’t been used for years now, has it?
Ellie had some odd facial proportions, which were a bit cartoony with her large eyes, and they will be fixed in the upcoming Last of Us 1 Remake. Joel looks a bit more withered and older this time around but the polygons and textures on his clothing look pretty solid.
But there are a few caveats to take into consideration. If you’ve played the game before, then the exorbitant 70 Dollar price tag makes absolutely no sense. But if you haven’t tried it out, then getting the game would be pretty much worth it.
Last of Us Part 1 Remake Leaks
In addition, new content has been revealed in regards to the game. Some players and reviewers got early access, while the rest of the world has to wait till September 2. We got hands on some footage yesterday from Twitter, but Tom Henderson took to the stage and revealed even more footage for the game.
Tom Henderson shed light on never before seen footage of the Last of Us Part 1 Remake, which trumps the short clip we’d seen earlier. Tom shared three separate scenes of footage for the video game, which is yet to be released.
The game needs some further content, especially for players that finished the game back in 2013. A discount for previous owners of The Last of Us 2013 would have been fair, but the discount policy for remakes and remasters has been pretty flimsy when it comes to the PlayStation Store and Sony, for that matter.
From whatever we’ve gathered so far, The Last of Us Part 1 will be a good remake, and it will surely solidify itself as a true homage to the original. But at 70 dollars, you can’t help but feel a bit uneasy.
The game was initially announced in June, and ever since, players have been on the edge of their seats awaiting a release date, but what turned their smiles upside down was the 70-dollar price tag which has caused uproar in the community.
In previous iterations, the franchise had been widely received for its plethora of accessibility options that allow people with disabilities and handicaps to enjoy the series, and now, even more options are coming to the Last of Us Part 1.
Finally, the wait is over, and fans can hop on the hype train once again as The Last of Us Part 1 is set to release for the PlayStation 5 as well as PC next month with a release date of September 2.
So are you excited for The Last of Us Part 1 Remake? Did the new footage leaks hype you up?
