New South Park Game has been Teased by THQ Nordic

The hit series that has been running for over two decades now and spans over 25 seasons is getting another game. The show has been uncancellable despite its hot takes and controversial episodes, and it carries over the crass charm to its turn-based videogames. This series is getting another game, as teased by THQ Nordic. It’s time for veteran fans to enjoy a new South Park Game!

THQ Nordic’s New South Park Game

It was in the recent THQ Nordic Showcase where numerous games were shown off. Attendees got to witness reveal trailers for games like AEW Fight Forever, Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, the new open-world sandbox game, Wreckreation, a remake of Alone in the Dark and tons more. But in a classic move, THQ Nordic saved the best for last, a tease for another South Park title.

South Park is without a doubt one of the biggest animated comedy shows today, and it seems to garner a bigger fanbase with every passing day.

It was in 2021 that the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, signed a giant deal which focused around creating more shows and movies, but the deal also included plans for a dispensary as well as a new video game. That game would definitely be the new South Park Title under development by Question Games and shouldn’t be confused with the South Park Title announced by THQ Nordic.

It’s a possibility that there’s been a joint publishing agreement between the two companies and the two games are the one and the same, but until it’s officially confirmed, there’s a possibility that we might get to enjoy two South Park titles in the coming future!

After all, South Park features expansive lore and a roster of characters, and it could certainly handle being in two separate games. It definitely deserves more than one game at a time, truth be told.

The presentation was ended with a voice-over from Randy Marsh and a low-bit image featuring Eric Cartman, Kenny, Kyle and Stan Marsh with the South Park Digital Studios Logo at the bottom. That’s pretty much it for the reveal. However, if THQ Nordic is teasing the game at this time, it’s possible that fans will get to see something more substantial and concrete for the new title in the coming months if not next year.

South Park has seen tons of games during its run-time. But the two games that stand out the most are South Park: The Fractured But Whole and  The Stick of Truth. The turn-based RPG titles were much better received than earlier South Park games.

Many fans are hoping that they’d see another new South Park Game that follows the same formula. Two titles are hypothetically in development as we know so far, and it seems more possible than ever, considering the success and positive ratings received by the franchise and series. One of the new South Park Games could be adopting a new formula, while the other might stick to the turn-based RPG genre that we’ve grown to love.

It should be kept in mind that THQ Nordic was contracted to publish South Park: The Stick of Truth prior to Ubisoft, but the company was prevented to do so as they filed for bankruptcy.

If THQ Nordic is publishing a South Park Game the likes of South Park: The Stick of Truth, then it’s basically coming full circle for the company. Still, a lot of questions remain unanswered at this moment in time. Will the new game adopt Question’s RPG formula, or will it take a different approach and direction? Only time will tell.

And that’s pretty much it for all the details about the new South Park Games. Are you excited about the upcoming new titles by THQ Nordic and Question Games? Let us know in the comments below. We upload daily on Appuals, so stay tuned for more. Till then, see you later and goodbye!
