1. Restart Chrome and Your Device

The first thing that you should do if the steps or disabling the trending searches are not working for you is restart Chrome and your device. 

There are times when a temporary glitch in the system prevents you from performing certain operations. These issues can almost always be resolved by a simple restart. In case the issue persists, move to the next method below. 

2. Clear Cache

When you visit a webpage for the first time, Google stores its data in the form of a cache file for future use. This cache data or cache files help retrieve information faster the next time you visit the same webpage. 

While the cache data is essential for making your search experience in browsers smooth, it can sometimes get corrupt, and prevent the browser from performing certain operations. If this scenario is applicable, you can fix the problem by clearing the cache of Chrome. However, keep in mind that this might cause some sites to load up slowly on your next visit to them.

Here is how you can clear cache data:

1. Launch Chrome settings by following the steps mentioned earlier in this guide.

3. Reset Chrome
