What is Riot Vanguard?
Riot Vanguard is a piece of custom game security software developed by Riot Games to ensure the highest standards of fair competition for their products. Riot Vanguard uses a kernel mode driver and has a client that runs concurrently with VALORANT.
As some may be aware, Valorant ceased working with Windows 10 builds earlier than 1709 last month. This could be one of the main reasons why many players have been experiencing the error message “This build of Vanguard is out of compliance with current system settings” during the past few weeks.
According to reports, Secure Boot and BIOS Mode of the BIOS are responsible for this annoying problem. Vanguard, Riot’s proprietary anti-cheat solution for Valorant, may not function properly on systems that do not have these characteristics fully activated. Sometimes, in addition to the “Out of Compliance” error message, players may additionally get a VAN 9003 error code.
