Just last month, Samsung and Qualcomm announced a partnership, with the Korean giant becoming the official presenting partner of the Snapdragon Pro Series. This essentially means that all future Snapdragon Pro Series events will feature some sort of Samsung branding. Moreover, at certain high-level competitive events, players will be exclusively equipped with Samsung flagships powered by Snapdragon SoCs.
Snapdragon Pro Series competitors at the Mobile Challenge and Mobile Masters levels will exclusively use Samsung Galaxy devices powered by Snapdragon Mobile Platforms for sanctioned competitions, beginning with the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Challenge Finals at DreamHack Valencia.
While the announcement blog post doesn’t mention any of the Samsung devices that will feature in future events, it is likely that the S22 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will be used. Although, this will soon be replaced by the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and is rumored to launch by February next year.
We’re committed to bringing high-performance Samsung Galaxy devices powered by Snapdragon to the hands of billions of gamers around the world to promote both camaraderie and competition.
As the Official Smartphone Partner of the Snapdragon Pro Series, this announcement deepens our existing collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies and is an important next step in our pursuit to advancing mobile technology in the esports world.

Until very recently, Samsung and Qualcomm were direct competitors in the smartphone SoC space. But as recent rumors point out, Samsung is likely not going to release a Exynos version of the upcoming Galaxy S23 series. While the company hasn’t discontinued working on the Exynos project, it is clear we won’t be seeing them in upcoming Samsung flagships, at least for the foreseeable future.
