Over the past few months, we have seen a lot of rumors surrounding the release of the next Spider-Man game. However as we have previously reported, the most credible sources suggest a September launch. As the release date approaches, it is only natural that we will be seeing an increasing number of leaks for different sources.
One such leak surfaced online earlier this week where we got a sneak peek at the plot of the game. To be honest now, this is a big one. However judging by previous trends, the source of the leak, 4chan, doesn’t seem too credible of a site.
The Plot
While the leaks are advised to be taken with a grain of salt, it is important to understand that they may also be true, and so the following article contains a number of spoilers, so read at your own discretion.
The leak says that the game begins with Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up to track down a serial killer. Surprisingly, the killer turns out to be Yuri, who has been fighting a number criminals in the name of justice. Peter then urges Miles to go home, as the situation is is somewhat dangerous for him.
It’s said that early in the game, Peter acquires the symbiote when Harry returns from Europe. The symbiote sneaks into MJ‘s purse before attaching itself to Peter. With the help of the Black suit Spider-Man and Miles, Yuri is defeated, marking the end of the first act.
Growing concerned about Miles’ electric abilities and Black suit Spider-Man, Osborn hires Kraven to eliminate both of them. However, Kraven goes rogue and uses a number of different tactics to hunt Peter and Miles. Despite his strategies, Kraven is overpowered by Black suit Peter and Miles.
Peter then goes to the iconic bell tower to get rid of the suit, while Kraven escapes. The symbiote bonds with Eddie Brock, who then becomes a playable character in the game. Eddie’s sections in the game are similar to MJ’s but with more action and photography.
During one of these sections, Black suit Spider-Man confronts Eddie, resulting in intense hostility between them. Eddie also has a bad history with Peter. Mistaking Venom for Spider-Man, Kraven hunts him down, only to be killed and consumed by Venom.
Venom then kidnaps MJ, forcing Peter and Miles to rescue her. Meanwhile, Osborn manipulates Harry into becoming the Green Goblin. The final showdown is between Peter and Miles battling Venom and Green Goblin.
They manage to defeat the villains and persuade them to join forces against Osborn. However, Osborn kills his own son, Harry, using an advanced Goblin suit and forces the symbiote off Eddie. The symbiote falls off a roof with Eddie diving after it, but neither is seen again.
The ending of the game shows Peter proposing to MJ, who happily accepts his proposal. Like mentioned earlier, the leak may not describe the entire narrative, but it at least gives us an idea of what to expect from the game.
