Rockstar Games has revealed six in-game radio stations for GTA 6 and confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is the first game in the series with on-demand podcasts, according to a Rockstar Newswire announcement published on October 8. The studio also opened a music page on its website where players can preview each of the six stations in two-minute samples.
Rockstar says GTA 6 will have the "biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet." The six stations are only part of the lineup, since the announcement also confirms classic rock and talk radio options.
GTA 6 Radio Stations, Hosts, and Songs Revealed So Far
Every station revealed so far has two hosts, and Rockstar cast well-known artists in most of the roles:
- The modern Latin station is hosted by El Martillo (voiced by Bad Bunny) and La Gata (voiced by RaiNao), covering bachata, merengue, dembow, and reggaeton, with Bad Bunny's EoO in the selection.
- Back Country Radio plays renegade country with MW (voiced by Morgan Wallen) and Delta Dawne (voiced by Lana Del Rey), plus roving reporter Mud Dog Mike (voiced by Jeremy Dufrene). Loretta Lynn and David Allan Coe are on the playlist.
- AfroBank FM features Burna (voiced by Burna Boy) and Palmsy (voiced by Palms Trax), with African music ranging from 20th century classics to amapiano and 3-step.
- The Chamber 106.6 is the classic metal station, hosted by DJ Kerry (voiced by Kerry King) and DJ Tom (voiced by Tom Araya), with Black Sabbath, Pantera, and Slayer.
- Flash FM returns as the Vice City pop station with Robyn and Alex Consani, playing Charli xcx, MGMT, and Zara Larsson with PinkPantheress.
- Dirty South Classics covers regional rap and hip-hop with Trick Daddy and Trina, including tracks from David Banner, JT Money, and DJ Khaled.
Radio and Podcasts Now Play on Foot in GTA 6
The podcasts are the larger structural change. "For the first time ever, Grand Theft Auto VI introduces a series of on-demand podcasts for Jason and Lucia to experience beyond Leonida's terrestrial radio," Rockstar states. Both radio and podcasts can be played in vehicles and on foot, through new headphones and earbuds connected to the characters' smartphones.
In earlier Grand Theft Auto games, radio was confined to vehicles and select buildings. With the on-foot option, players can keep music or a podcast running while exploring or during combat.
Rockstar released a batch of new official screenshots alongside the radio reveal. In September, the studio confirmed a separate album of original music made for GTA 6, with songs from Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, and Keith Richards, and the full tracklist for that album has not been published yet. The radio news follows Rockstar's recent statement that GTA 6 requires players to earn money to advance story missions.
The six station previews are available on the Rockstar Games website now. GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has not said whether it will reveal the complete station list before release.
