God Of War: Ragnarok Could Be Releasing This September, Reveals Database Leak

God Of War: Ragnarok is among the year’s most anticipated titles and following up to the massive success of 2018‘s God Of War, the hype is deserved. So far we’ve gotten only one full-length trailer along with some gameplay, but much of the game is still under wraps. For instance, we know the game is supposed to launch in 2022 but when exactly in 2022? Well, it seems as if maybe that’s not as big a question anymore as recent a leak might’ve compromised the release date.

PlayStation Game Size, an account on Twitter dedicated to covering leaks, news, and updates from PlayStation Store’s database has uncovered a new leak from the database. The leak suggests that God Of War: Ragnarok is currently set to release on 22nd September, 2022. That would place the game in the third quarter of the year and roughly nine months from now.

However, as the tweet itself notes, this date could very well just be a placeholder. Many games have placeholder dates on advance listings in order to avoid leaking their real release dates. That being said, the September 22nd release date could indicate that, at least, PlayStation is aiming for a third quarter release if not exactly the 22nd of September. Nothing is confirmed so far, for all we know the release date could be real but there’s no saying yet.

God Of War: Ragnarok is the sequel to 2018’s hit masterpiece God Of War which reinvented the franchise by grounding into reality once again. Ragnarok picks up three years after where the 2018 game left off and will introduce new characters such as Thor. We’ll see a matured Atreus venture into deeper into the Nine Realms as he seeks out his true identity while battling world-ending monsters. The game will release on both the PS4 and PS5.
