AMD is set to brace CES 2022 in just a few hours where it will show off its new Ryzen 6000 mobile APUs. While the APUs are going to headline the show, the red team is also bringing a couple of GPU announcements to the show. We’ve already known for a while that AMD is working on new graphical solutions as many of them have leaked, and today’s leak essentially just puts a confirmation pin on that.
Videocardz got their hands on exclusive information regarding the GPUs AMD is set to announce at their show. The leak provides us with names of most likely all GPUs that will be unveiled at CES along with their detailed specs. You can check out the extended chart at the end of this article.
Specs Breakdown
The highest-end GPU AMD is going to announce is the Radeon RX 6850M XT. This SKU is manufactured using the same 7nm process as the desktop RDNA 2 GPUs. RX 6850M will become the new flagship mobile GPU from AMD as it features 12 GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 18Gbps, which is a significant improvement over the current flagship: RX 6800M. The 6850M will also have a 165W TGP.
Moving on, AMD will also introduce two Navi 24 GPUs based on the 6nm process. These being the Radeon RX 6500M and 6300M. Both of these are low-power SKUs with 50W and 25W TGPs and come with either 4GB or 2GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Apart from these, AMD might also announce two new desktop GPUs based on Navi 24 according to a previous report.
Lastly, it looks like there’s going to be a brand new series of Radeon GPUs as well: Radeon RX 6000S series. This is essentially AMD’s answer to NVIDIA‘s Max-Q GPUs as these are low-powered SKUs meant for thin and light notebooks, leaning more towards the business side than gaming. However, the naming scheme does not line up with mainline Radeon RX 6000M GPUs as, for instance, the RX 6800M is quite different from the RX 6800S.
This can lead to some confusion as the specs don’t match and a certain “S” series SKU isn’t just a low-power version of its normal “M” series counterpart. Regardless, there will be three RX 6000S GPUs at launch with the highest-end SKU being the aforementioned 6800M with a 100W TDP.
