Intel is expected to announce the Alder Lake non-K (locked) desktop processors at CES 2022 along with giving us an update on its highly-anticipated Arc Alchemist discrete GPUs. However, an entirely different series is going to headline the show and that’s Alder Lake mobile.
Just hours before Intel was ready to show off Alder Lake mobile, though, the entire list of all SKUs leaked out with detailed specs, courtesy of Videocardz. The site got their hands on two leaked slides from the presentation detailing two different series of Alder Lake mobile along with a tagline at the bottom saying “Embargoed until January 4, 2022 at 10:10 AM PT“.
Regardless, Alder Lake mobile is a big deal for Intel as its by far the biggest leap in mobile computing they’ve taken in years. So far, Alder Lake mobile CPUs have destroyed all competition in leaked benchmarks time and time again so this release is being highly looked-forward to.
Alder Lake-H
In the leaked slide attached below, we can see Alder Lake-H CPUs. This “H” represents performance, as in “high-performance“. You’ll notice that this series runs from the top-end i9 SKU all the way down to i5, but there’s no i3 or lower SKUs, further indicating that this series is focused on providing as much performance as possible and where power is the priority over efficiency.
The highest-end SKUs in that slide are the Core i9-12900HK and 12900H, both of which are the same with the only difference being one is unlocked and other isn’t. Both of them have 14 cores and 20 threads, with 8 of those cores being Golden Cove Performance Cores, and the other 8 are Gracemont EfficiencyCores. These are the only 2 i9 SKUs and feature a boost clock of up to 5.0Ghz on the Performance Cores with a base clock speed of 2.5Ghz.
The i9 and i7 SKUs all share the same TDP of 45W+ with 115W being the power limits for all of them. Another interesting thing to note here is that unlike their desktop counterparts, all Alder Lake mobile CPUs feature E-cores along with P-cores, whereas some Alder Lake desktop SKUs only boast P-cores.
Alder Lake-U
Moving on, the second slide shows Alder Lake mobile “U” series. This is basically the low-powered version of Alder Lake mobile and the i7 is the top-end SKU here. All U-series CPUs feature the same 15W base TDP and 55W max TDP. Core i7-1265U, the flagship SKU has a 10 core, 12 thread topology with only two performance cores and eight efficiency cores, and a boost clock of up to 4.8Ghz.
Pentium and Celeron CPUs are also a part of Alder Lake U-series but they barely offer any marginal improvement over their previous gen “Lakefield” counterparts as they have the same 1 big core and 4 small cores configuration seen in 11th Gen. They also feature the same 15W base and 55W max TDP. Intel will make all of these SKUs official at their CES 2022 press conference which beings at 10 AM PT on January 4th, 2022.
