Even NVIDIA Doesn’t Know When The RTX 3090 Ti is Coming Out

NVIDIA announced a bunch of new GPUs at CES 2022 earlier this year, one of those being the company’s new mainstream flagship: the RTX 3090 Ti. As the name suggests,  the new graphics card was going to become the top-end SKU in NVIDIA’s RTX 30-series lineup. Originally, it was supposed to launch by the end of January with all reports prior pointing to the release being on track. However, RTX 3090 Ti’s launch never came to fruition.

Just days after the CES announcement, reports from Videocardz stated that RTX 3090 Ti was going through severe production turbulence with different issues being cited as the reason. The problem grew to the point where production had to be reportedly halted to investigate what was going wrong. Of course, in the process not only did the RTX 3090 Ti miss its January-end launch window, all the info came from sources that were not NVIDIA as the company remained silent throughout.

Now, as February closes in on its half-point, NVIDIA finally came forward and gave (somewhat of) a statement to The Verge regarding the release of RTX 3090 Ti. Jen Andersson, a spokesperson from the company said:

We don’t currently have more info to share on the RTX 3090 Ti, but we’ll be in touch when we do.”

As you can tell, that’s essentially equivalent to a no-comment as NVIDIA is refusing to give us any official updates on the card’s release. This leaves all the news to the leakers who will eventually break it anyways so this was a good opportunity for NVIDIA to say their case, but they passed on it. In fact, popular leaker @momomo_us already has tweeted that “Motus.dk“, a Danish retailer is set to receive shipments of ASUS RTX 3090 Ti cards on March 1st, according to a listing.

So far, we know that the RTX 3090 Ti will be an absolute monster. The first GPU from NVIDIA to feature the full GA-102 die with 24GB of ultra-fast GDDR6X memory and PCIe Gen 5 support with 12+4 power connectors pushing a 450W TDP. At the CES announcement, company said that it will give more details on the card’s launch and even specs in the coming days before January’s launch yet here we are.
