Sony and PlayStation have just announced a new State of Play livestream to air tomorrow. The stream is scheduled for March 9th and will begin at 2 PM Pacific / 5 PM Eastern / 11:00 PM CET. You can watch it on PlayStation’s official Twitch and YouTube channels tomorrow, but keep in mind that the stream may feature copyrighted music so PlayStation recommends omitting it from any clips or VODs of the stream.
The State of Play will feature a number of announcements and “eye-catching reveals” for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 titles alike, but not PlayStation VR2 hardware or games. The show will clock in at around 20 minutes, as per usual, but this time the focus will be on Japanese developers gracing the State of Play with some important announcements. That being said, announcements from other studios around the world will also be a part of the show.
State of Play returns this Wednesday, March 9. Tune in at 2 PM PT for about 20 minutes of PS4 & PS5 first looks and updates, with a special focus on games coming from our Japan publishers.

That’s all the info PlayStation gave us but from that we can decipher that the biggest games from Japanese developers are likely to appear at the show. Final Fantasy 16 is the obvious given here, considering how Square Enix literally confirmed back in December that conduct their next big reveal in Spring of 2022. Ghostwire Tokyo is also a possibility since it fits with the theme aptly.
God Of War: Ragnarok would be the title that jumps out to everyone as being part of the show considering its a cross-gen title releasing on both PS4 and PS5 but I doubt that PlayStation would leave a big GOW announcement to a 20-minute State of Play that isn’t even dedicated to it. Forsaken would’ve also been a possible title for the show but its recent delay to October 2022 puts it out of contention.
