AMD Genoa EPYC 9964 Leaked, Features 96 Cores and 192 Threads

AMD has had quite the lead over Intel in the server and workstation segment for a while now. Their next gen Genoa based EPYC server chips have been found to be completely crushing Intel in all fronts such as performance and efficiency.

Just a few days ago, the AMD EPYC 9954 was leaked which was upto 9 times faster than its Xeon counterpart in various benchmarks. Surprisingly, this was not the flagship SKU as the EPYC 9964 has been leaked claiming the throne of being the fastest x86 ISA chip in the market.

yuuki_ans who originally leaked the 9954 along with a few performance benchmarks now presents the flagship SKU infront of us. This beast will feature 96 Cores/192 threads while consuming just 400W of power while still being leagues ahead of Intel’s best server CPUs which require 700W.

As for the clock speeds, the 9964 runs at a base clock of around 2.25GHz whereas the boost clock varies between 2.26 and 3.8 GHz. Bear in mind, being an Engineering Sample an uplift in performance and efficiency is expected.

Performance wise, no benchmarks have been leaked . However, if we take into account the fact that the 9964 is better than the 9954‘s benchmarks then we can get a rough idea regarding the performance. AMD’s Genoa powered by ‘Zen 4‘ will release sometime in Q4 2022.
