If you didn’t know, the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the Remake, is getting closer and closer by the day, and we’re still thinking, “Where’s the Multiplayer?” Activision is yet to even talk about the Multiplayer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and screenshots or even a trailer for multiplayer are pretty much out of the question. So what’s going on, Activision?
Multiplayer is supposed to be the main selling point for the Call of Duty Franchise, and it’s primarily what sells Activision and Infinity Ward’s beloved Call of Duty Franchise. That too, along with Call of Duty Zombies.
Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Date and Details
So far, we’ve only heard rumors that the first look at multiplayer might happen sometime in August, but one of the most trusted Call of Duty leakers to date stepped forward to claim that it’s certainly not the case this time!
Tom Henderson, who’s been pretty intuitive about Call of Duty leaks in the past, stated that the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer would be revealed sometime in early September, and claims that it will be revealed in August are plainly false.
This news seems pretty consistent with the yearly trend we’ve seen with multiplayer modes for games like Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard being revealed in early September of their respective years.
Henderson thinks that a full live stream will happen in addition to gameplay along with developer interviews. He stated that some other aspects of the new Modern Warfare 2 had been revealed a bit earlier than usual, so he’s advised fans to not read into anything until the Multiplayer reveal officially happens close to launch, considering this has been the marketing roadmap for Activision.
Another reason why Activision won’t be releasing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer earlier than September is because the game’s beta will kick off around the mid of September. Suppose you didn’t know when the beta was being released along with pre-orders? Well, we got all of that information right here.
Players that have pre-ordered Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will gain entry into early access around 15-16th September exclusively on the PlayStation. As for the PlayStation Exclusive Open Beta, it will begin around 17th September to the 19th of September.
Cross-Play Early Access for pre-orders will officially start around September 22 and September 23. As for the open beta, it will begin the day after, from September 24 to September 26.
It seems PS4 and PS5 owners are getting access to the game early followed by other platform pre-orders. Modern Warfare 2 is a really delicate franchise that is dear to the hearts of many fans. We hope Activision of Infinity Ward doesn’t mess it up and anger the whole userbase.
And that’s it for today on Appuals. See you next time and goodbye!
