NVIDIA RTX 4080 Has Been Downgraded, NVIDIA Prepping for its Beast?

NVIDIA’s upcoming Lovelace lineup has had its specifications changed in the past few months. With the new 4070 almost on par with NVIDIA’s RTX 3090 Ti. Surprisingly, doing so, NVIDIA decided to downgrade their RTX 4080.

The RTX 4080 now features the AD103-300-A1 GPU and ships with 16GB of GDDR6X memory running across a 256-bit bus. The previous RTX 4080 had close to around 10240 cuda cores.

Almost a month back, the same leaker showed us the expected specifications of the now old RTX 4080. Seems fishy from NVIDIA to lower the specs at such a cruical time.

So the Cuda cores have been decreased, although, the TDP remains the same

  • 10240 Cuda corres vs 9728 Cuda cores (5% decrease)

A small Time Spy Extreme sample was also included in the leak, hinting that the 4080 will still score around 15000 points which is in line with the previous score.

The Beast

In a conversation between haruzake and kopite, a sheet was presented showing an alleged beast from NVIDIA. This can either be the RTX Titan or the 4090 Ti boasting a whopping 800W TDP. We covered the initial leaks regarding this in our previous article. Long story short, the full-fat AD102 will feature 48GB of G6X VRAM.

These GPUs from NVIDIA are to come sometime in October. More details will be unveiled as time passes.
