NVIDIA’s upcoming Lovelace lineup has had its specifications changed in the past few months. With the new 4070 almost on par with NVIDIA’s RTX 3090 Ti. Surprisingly, doing so, NVIDIA decided to downgrade their RTX 4080.
The RTX 4080 now features the AD103-300-A1 GPU and ships with 16GB of GDDR6X memory running across a 256-bit bus. The previous RTX 4080 had close to around 10240 cuda cores.
I'm not a chatterbox, but I have to make some updates. I hope you don't mind.
a possible RTX 4080,
PG136/139-SKU360
AD103-300-A1
9728FP32
256bit 16G 21Gbps GDDR6X
total power ~420W
TSE ~15000
Now I have completed the latest update for 4090, 4080 and 4070.— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) August 5, 2022
Almost a month back, the same leaker showed us the expected specifications of the now old RTX 4080. Seems fishy from NVIDIA to lower the specs at such a cruical time.
Continue to update.
RTX 4090, AD102-300-A1, 16384FP32, 384bit 21Gbps 24G GDDR6X, 450W, base 2235 boost 2520 actual max >2750;
RTX 4080, AD103-300-A1, 10240FP32, 256bit 21Gbps 16G GDDR6X, 420W,
RTX 4070, AD104-275-Kx(x is a number)-A1, 7168FP32, 160bit 18Gbps 10G GDDR6, 300W.— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) July 4, 2022
So the Cuda cores have been decreased, although, the TDP remains the same
- 10240 Cuda corres vs 9728 Cuda cores (5% decrease)
A small Time Spy Extreme sample was also included in the leak, hinting that the 4080 will still score around 15000 points which is in line with the previous score.
The Beast
In a conversation between haruzake and kopite, a sheet was presented showing an alleged beast from NVIDIA. This can either be the RTX Titan or the 4090 Ti boasting a whopping 800W TDP. We covered the initial leaks regarding this in our previous article. Long story short, the full-fat AD102 will feature 48GB of G6X VRAM.
1. The TITAN have a chance to use a full-fat chip. I will update that when I confirm it.
2. A full-fat AD103 will have 64M L2, and AD104 will have 48M. Only RTX 4090 should have a L2 cut. (99%)— kopite7kimi (@kopite7kimi) August 5, 2022
These GPUs from NVIDIA are to come sometime in October. More details will be unveiled as time passes.
