Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is hitting shelves this October 28, 2022, and fans are excited. Season 1 for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer will start on November 16, 2022, and it’s going to be jam-packed with content. Speaking of multiplayer, there seems to be no sign of Modern Warfare 2’s Grand Prix Map anywhere on the internet. It appears Activision and Infinity Ward have removed all traces of the upcoming map so what’s going on?
No Sign of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Grand Pix Map
Call of Duty fans all across the internet are worried that Infinity Ward might have cut out the newest map of Modern Warfare 2, Grand Prix out of the game altogether. Fans have been outraged as Infinity Ward removed all traces of the Grand Prix map from social media.
It was prior to the launch of the currently ongoing closed beta that Infinity Ward stated that players would get to try out the upcoming Grand Prix map that was set to release for the game. For reasons unknown, that hasn’t been the case so far, as players have reported that the Grand Prix map is missing from the closed beta of the game and what’s all the more unusual is that Infinity Ward is making no comments on where the map is.
So what’s going to be the fate of the announced map? CharlieIntel over at Twitter reported that Infinity Ward has scrubbed nearly all posts and mentions of the Grand Prix Map from all of its social media handles. The company went so far as to remove any Tweets mentioning it as well as the trailers that featured the highly anticipated map. The absence of the map combined with Infinity Ward removing all traces of it suggests that the map has been taken out of the game.
It’s not clear what’s happened, but Activision has deleted all mentions of the ‘Grand Prix’ map for #MWII. The overview video and more have been removed from all social media. The map was originally announced to be in the beta.

Fans have been speculating as to why the map was removed and it might possibly be due to copyright reasons. ResetEra user ASleepingMonkey stated that the map is a one-to-one recreation of an F1 race track found in Singapore. It might be possible that the owners of the racetrack and the association holding an upcoming race on the very same track don’t want Call of Duty players running up and down gunning for each other on a track made for racing.
As for other Call of Duty news, the series is currently in the middle of a controversial issue between Sony and Microsoft. Sony argues that the title shouldn’t be made exclusive to the Xbox platform despite the fact that Microsoft is in the midst of acquiring Activision Blizzard and the rights to its many IPs for nearly 70 billion dollars earlier this year.
This is on top of all the controversy that is surrounding the series and its publisher, Activision Blizzard, as the company has been involved in a lot of hot potato issues ever since July of last year when it was reported that the company had created an atmosphere and culture of workplace abuse.
