We now have the 3rd picture showcasing the RTX 4090 from different AIB partners. This time, the leak comes from Videocardz showing the GALAX RTX 4090. Remember, this picture should be taken as a rumor.
A 4-Fan Design
The quad fan configuration may confuse many, however, the 4th and final fan is placed at the GPU’s back. This is an interesting cooling idea, however, the effectiveness is yet to be measured. Videocardz mentions that the Serious Gaming lineup (4 fans) has been seen across NVIDIA’s Ampere aswell. In addition, the GPU ships with a 16-pin connector (12VHPWR). So this leak may end up being the actual GALAX RTX 4090 SG’s design.
Similarly, yesterday GALAX NA (North America) in a cryptic tweet hinted towards its RTX 4000 SG (Serious Gaming) lineup.

The Cooling Mechanism
The 3 fans at the front pull in cold air and the single fan at the back dissipates the hot air. This method on-paper is really effective because if placed in a horizontal mount (standard) then the hot air being less dense, rises. We don’t see such cooling techniques everyday.
Release Date
NVIDIA is planning to showcase its Lovelace architecture along with the initial launch lineup on the 20th of September. Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO will host the keynote possibly even giving us a sneak peak at the 4090 (Straight from the Oven). As of now, all the leaks show that the RTX 4090 is a 4-slot monstrosity requiring exotic cooling.
The community has shown a rather mixed reaction because of the new font choice and a beefier/bulkier design. However, we did see the same reaction when Ampere was first announced so only time will tell if these GPUs are worth your money.
