DaVinci Resolve, a well-known video editing software, was covertly touted as coming to the iPad today as Apple unveiled its newest tablets.
Although Apple praised the M2 chip in the new iPad Pro as helping the forthcoming professional software, it is unknown which iPads will be compatible with the iPadOS version of Resolve. In both today’s iPad introduction video and the press statement for Newsroom, Apple hinted that Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve would soon be available for iPad Pro users.
The breakthrough performance of M2 enhances an incredible selection of pro apps available on iPad, including DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Publisher 2 iPad, Octane X, uMake, and more.”
DaVinci Resolve can be used for motion graphics, colour correction, and video editing. Blackmagic Design now develops it after DaVinci Systems initially did so. It is well known for its easy-to-use user interface. With just one click, DaVinci Resolve’s three industry-recognized programmes let you switch between an editing suite, colour corrector, and audio mastering station.
Resolve for the iPad isn’t currently available, but it will be soon. At the 8-minute mark of its video, Apple verified this, however it excluded to provide a launch date.
iPad Pro’s blazing performance takes your favorite apps further than ever. And powerful new apps are coming to iPad as well. DaVinci Resolve for iPad for color correction, editing, and visual effects.”
-Apple
DaVinci Resolve appears to be limited to iPad Pro models with M1 and M2 processors. The performance that a video editor of this kind needs can only be provided by these processors. But as of right now, we are unaware of what features DaVinci Resolve’s iPad edition will provide. If it’s just a stripped – down version of the desktop app, don’t be shocked.
Which iPads will support DaVinci Resolve when it comes remains to be seen. Stay tuned as we track information regarding the launch.
