GPU sag has started to become a major concern for almost every enthusiast nowadays. Putting it simply, high-end GPUs are bulky and heavy which causes them to hang freely on one side. Custom RTX 4090 models span across almost 4 slots which combined with their weight makes them prone to this issue.
Meet The 51RISC RTX 4090
A chinese brand named ‘51RISC‘ has designed a custom variant for the RTX 4090 equipped with not 1, but 2 spirit levels. This tool identifies whether the GPU or any device is tilted against the horizontal.
The physical dimensions of this GPU make it slightly smaller than the RTX 4090 FE edition. A power supply of at least 800W is recommended, just 50W less than NVIDIA’s recommendations.
Performance Metrics
The base clocks are rated at 2.2GHz which go as high as 2.52GHz, in-line with the stock RTX 4090. No one-click OC feature is present, so you will have manually overclock this GPU if you wish to do so.
In Time Spy Extreme, the GPU scores 19620 points, on-par with other 4090 variants. FurMark gives us a more detailed overview regarding the temperatures. The ‘Sag Free’ RTX 4090 went up to a maximum of 72C which is still respectable provided the power this GPU consumes.
Pricing & Availability
Much like the other Chinese products, this GPU is available worldwide by Aliexpress. Owners get up to 2 years of warranty, divided across 1 year of free maintenance and the subsequent year of paid maintenance. This custom RTX 4090 will cost you round about ~2300$, although regional pricing may vary.
