OneUI 5.1 Android 13 on the Galaxy S23 Reportedly Consumes Over 60GB of Storage

Samsung‘s most recent Galaxy S23 series is powered by One UI 5.1, the company’s own software that sits on top of Android 13. New buyers will surprisingly discover that this software version requires 60GB of storage, hence it is advisable to choose the greater internal memory models.

There must be a catch if both the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro, both of which are running Android 13, can squeeze by on just 15GB of internal storage. According to Android Authority, Samsung has preinstalled a tonne of useless software on every Galaxy S23. In other words, if you buy the standard model which costs $799.99 in the United States, you’ll have used up about half of the storage space on your phone before you’ve even finished setting it up.

According to the source, Samsung has replicated Google’s pre-installed programmes on the Galaxy S23 to create the idea to customers that the Korean firm has its own software ecosystem. This is done to differentiate Samsung from its competitors. What ends up happening is that two identical apps are downloaded and installed on the same device. In addition, Samsung makes money by allowing third-party apps to come pre-installed on the Galaxy S23.

Even with this, this is surprising keeping in mind that even Windows 11 on PC takes up just under 30GB of storage. While this is not a big deal, Samsung’s non-expandable storage makes it a serious issue for people considering buying them. While this is all that we know at this point, we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
