Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, The Long-Awaited Sequel Confirmed for Release on Multiple Platforms, Except Xbox

The wait is finally over for fans of the beloved supernatural thriller, Oxenfree. The highly anticipated sequel, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, has been confirmed to release on July 12th, 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and even on mobile via Netflix (Netflix acquired Night School in Sep 2021 as part of its efforts to grow in the gaming industry).

Night School, the talented developer behind the original game, made the thrilling announcement with a captivating trailer during the prestigious Nintendo Indie World Showcase.

After five years of the events of the first game, Riley Poverly returns to her hometown, Camena, to investigate mysterious radio signals that are causing havoc with electrical and radio equipment. But what she uncovers is more than she bargained for, as TVs turn on and off, planes lose radar, and ghostly signals pierce through the frequencies of Camena.

The captivating story with the mix of Night School’s impressive dialogue system indicates that this is going to be a treat for mystery thriller fans. However, gamers on Xbox consoles will not be able to enjoy Oxenfree 2 as the platform has now been cut-off from the list.

This decision by the developer, Night School Studio, comes as a surprise to many, considering that the first game was released on Xbox consoles and even gained significant popularity through Xbox Game Pass, which contributed to achieving the 3 million downloads mark by 2019. Fans on Twitter have been expressing their skepticism and curiosity about this unexpected turn of events, as no explanations have been provided by the studio.

What are your thoughts about Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals? Are you excited to finally experience the game? And what could be the reason behind it not coming to Xbox consoles? Let’s discuss this in the comments section below.
