Over the past few years, Huawei has really stepped into the smartwatch industry, making one of the finest looking smartwatches, and it seems like this year is no exception. The latest news comes in the form of a hands-on video that has just been posted online, providing an up-close look at the upcoming smartwatch.
The video showcases two different versions of the Huawei Watch 4, the Pro model, and a smaller, female-friendly variant.
The Pro model is shown from the side, featuring a functional button and a rotating crown. The watch appears to be slightly thicker than its predecessor, giving it a heavier appearance. The bezels have been reduced on all sides of the smartwatch, and the display is brighter and better clear visibility in sunlight. The video also highlights the new spherical glass, which is slightly curved.
The strap of the Pro model consists of two different materials, including nylon, which gives it a rathe unique, but different (casual) look and feel.
The smaller, female-friendly version of the Huawei Watch 4 is also showcased in the video, featuring a shiny frame made of stainless steel. Like the Pro model, this model also has smaller bezels, but the thickness is not the same. It has a white leather strap, resembling quite closely the Huawei Watch GT 3 elegant edition.
One of the most significant highlights of the Huawei Watch 4 lineup is its new screen. It boasts a 5.3% better screen-to-body ratio and 16.5% narrower bezels than the Watch 3 series. Also, for durability, Huawei is using an aviation-grade titanium case for this smartwatch, which is made with TC4 titanium alloy.
Huawei claims that this material is three times stronger and two times harder than regular titanium, making sure that it can withstand everyday wear and tear.
Although the Huawei Watch 4 series will release for global consumers in June, it will launch on May 18th for Chinese consumers. The hands-on video has surely told us a lot about what the watch is expected to offer, and it’s clear that the new lineup has surpassed expectations.
