SteamDB's upcoming promotions page states that Steam has confirmed a new free item which is expected to go live in September 2026 as part of its Free to Keep promotion.
The Beast Discharge Weapon Pack, which has a full price of $4.99, will at some point this month be given away free of charge. SteamDB also shows that three more DLC free gifts will be coming next month.
However, not all the free gifts that are confirmed on SteamDB end up being launched, so the arrangements may change. The package contains the Discharge Machete weapon as well as the VNC Weapon Charm.
Dying Light: The Beast DLC and More Steam Freebies
The Free to Keep promotions page that SteamDB is preparing to launch will state that the Discharge Weapon Pack for Dying Light: The Beast will be given away completely for free at some point in September 2026; however, no specific date will be disclosed beyond that.
The package contains the Discharge Machete weapon as well as the VNC Weapon Charm, GameRant calling it a modest yet worthwhile free item.
Alongside the Dying Light: The Beast DLC, SteamDB indicates three more Steam freebies coming next month:
- MXGP 26 - Scrubdesignz Liveries
- The Gear.Club Unlimited 3 Gear.Club Signature Pack
- Hunting Simulator 3 - Classic American Hunter Pack
GameRant points out that Steam's Free to Keep giveaways generally involve complete games, which makes a series of DLC packs being offered over a short period of time a kind of surprise. It is not yet clear whether this indicates a shift in strategy.
Why SteamDB Giveaway Listings Can Change
It isn't true that all the free games confirmed on SteamDB actually take place; at times developers do arrange free games but then abandon the event and so it eventually vanishes from SteamDB without any trace.
This situation doesn't occur very often, but it does happen from time to time. Although SteamDB is helpful for keeping track of free games that are coming up, the plans can still change behind the scenes.
The Crystal Crisis giveaway, for example, was not confirmed in advance and instead became free all at once with no prior announcement.
The Beast Discharge Weapon Pack for The Dying Light is expected to become available at some point in September 2026, although SteamDB does not provide an exact date.
The three further DLC freebies are scheduled for next month. People who are keeping an eye on these giveaways should remember that confirmation of a listing does not always mean that a live promotion will take place.
