While the Rockstar Launcher has been restored, the PC version of the GTA Trilogy has not.
What you need to know
- The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition features GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas on all current and last gen consoles, along with the Switch and PC.
- While there have been many reported problems with the ports, the PC version seems to have been hit the hardest.
- Rockstar Games reported that the PC game is still not playable as of Friday night.
When the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition launched on Thursday, it was riddled with issues. The bundle, which features GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas has become the subject of memes across platforms, but the PC version specifically has been a sore spot. As of this writing, it's not available to play at all through the Rockstar Launcher, which is how you play the company's games on PC.
In a tweet Friday evening, Rockstar noted that while the Games Launcher was back online after it was taken offline on Thursday, it was back in service. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said of the GTA Trilogy.
"The Rockstar Games Launcher is now online, but GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is unavailable to play or purchase as we remove files unintentionally included in these versions. We're sorry for the disruption and hope to have correct ones up soon," the company said in the tweet.

The three games were originally available to play on Steam, but those versions were moved before the trilogy's launch, meaning you could only get those three games through the Rockstar Launcher. It's more of an issue when the Rockstar Games Launcher itself is offline, which means that people can't play Grand Theft Auto Online or Red Dead Online, among other titles.
There's currently no word on when it'll be online. Players can still check it out on Xbox, PlayStation, and in the Switch stores.
Some fans have taken to social media to comment on the quality of the remasters, showcasing a number of bugs, texture glitches, seemingly poor character design, the lack of fog in San Andreas, and more. However, many fans have also reported enjoying the remasters due to the nostalgia factor.
