Recently, various AIB manufacturers showcased their ‘AM5‘ next-Gen motherboards. Today, in a meeting with AMD, ‘wxnod‘ came across a slide allegedly showing the mid-end and budget friendly ‘B650E‘ motherboard(s) from the AM5 lineup.
The Extreme Lineup
From what it seems, AMD’s Extreme (E) branding supports PCIe Gen 5.0 GPUs and a Gen 5.0 storage solution. However, if you move onto the non-extreme lineup, you can either choose a PCIe Gen 5.0 GPU or a storage device.
A Few Cut-Downs
The B650E chipset will ship with just 1 Promontory 21 chipset. This resultantly reduces the number of available lanes, so expect a slight decrease in performance if you’re an enthusiast. We now have a total of 4 chipsets for AMD’s X600 lineup.

Pricing
The pricing for the motherboards can be considered as a placeholder for now, however, we do have some numbers. MSI’s low-mid end X670 offerings are priced relatively higher than last-gen. Although bear in mind, these are just the initial price tags which will change on launch.
Launch Date
These motherboards are currently planned for release during the last week of September. AMD is prepping to announce its Ryzen 7000 lineup today. Fear not, for Appuals will keep you updated in real time. The live event is planned for 7:00 PM ET (Eastern Time).
The X670E/Non-E motherboards are expected to launch along with the Ryzen 7000 CPUs. Although, as for the lower end B650E chipsets, you will have to wait a while longer. AMD was initially planning to release its next-Gen lineup on the 15th of September, however, due to some BIOS-related issues this date had to be pushed back.
