Reviewers Already Have their Hands on AMD’s AM5 X670E Motherboards

A few days ago, at the AMD Meet The Expert event various AIB partners showcased their next gen AM5 socket supported motherboards. These new motherboards will support DDR5 RAM along with AMD’s Zen4 CPUs. You can also use pre-Zen4 coolers with these motherboards, for those who are curious.

Today, a tweet came up where Gigabyte allegedly sent SkatterBencher their X670E Aorus Master motherboard. These motherboards are set to launch with the Ryzen 7000 CPUs on 15th September, 2022

Looks beautiful, doesn’t it? This is the second best offering from Gigabyte for its X670E lineup. The motherboard features a 16+2+2 power phase along with 4 DDR5 slots. For storage, support up to 4 M.2 SSDs is provided, where two utilize the PCIe Gen5 x4 and the other two utilize the Gen4 x4 interface.

Leaks show that AMD plans to announce its Zen4 lineup on 29th August, 2022. Just 2 weeks later, the press embargo will be lifted allowing for reviewers to benchmark these CPUs. And on the 15th of September, AMD will officially launch their Zen4 CPUs.

  • Announcement : 29th September, 8PM ET
  • Press embargo : 13th September,  9AM ET
  • Official Launch : 15th September, 9AM ET

AMD accidentally tagged a few SKUs from their marketing resource file, namely:

  • Ryzen 9 7950X
  • Ryzen 9 7900X
  • Ryzen 7 7700X
  • Ryzen 5 7600X

These CPUs can be taken as AMD’s initial offerings, other R5 and R3 Zen4 based CPUs are set to arrive later this year or possibly in Q1 2023.
