Xbox Game Pass Adds Two Highly Rated RPGs With "Very Positive" Reviews

Microsoft has added two high-profile RPGs to Xbox Game Pass: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster. Both titles became available on March 3 across the Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass tiers.

The additions land just hours before Microsoft is expected to reveal its Wave 1 lineup for March 2026.

Xbox Game Pass Introduces Two RPGs With Strong Reviews

While very different in style, both games share strong critical and user reception.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 currently holds an 89 average score on OpenCritic and a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, based on more than 60,000 user reviews.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster has an OpenCritic average of 82 and also maintains a “Very Positive” Steam rating, albeit from a smaller pool of reviews.

Warhorse Studios’ medieval RPG offers a grounded, historically inspired open-world experience, while Square Enix’s remaster revisits a classic turn-based JRPG with updated visuals and quality-of-life improvements.

Game Pass Continues Its Strong 2026 Momentum

With these additions, Xbox Game Pass has added 40 titles (like Sims, for example) since the start of 2026. The service is outpacing last year’s early growth, posting a net gain of games in January and February even after factoring in removals.

Square Enix’s Pixel Remaster releases have followed a steady monthly cadence so far. Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II arrived in January and February, respectively, suggesting the remaining entries could follow in the coming months if the pattern holds.

More Game Pass Announcements Expected From Microsoft

Microsoft typically reveals new Game Pass waves on Tuesdays, and a broader March lineup announcement is expected soon. The only officially confirmed near-term release so far is Planet of Lana 2, scheduled as a day-one launch later this week.

For RPG fans, though, March has already started strong, with two critically well-received titles now included in the subscription.
