Galaxy S23 FE Rumored to Feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Gen 1 SoC In an Effort to Provide Competitive Pricing

It seemed somewhat evident that Samsung would not proceed with a Galaxy S22 FE launch given the uncomfortable introduction of the Galaxy S21 FE, which probably did not achieve the same success as the Galaxy S20 FE.

Thankfully, the Galaxy S23 FE may herald the return of affordable smartphones, and Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 8 chipsets should provide Samsung with enough incentive to proceed with a launch. One report claims that the Galaxy S23 FE will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip from the previous generation.

The person going by the handle @OreXda on Twitter goes by the name “Connor” and claims to have “exclusive” knowledge on the Galaxy S23 FE, revealing that the device would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.

For those who are unaware, Qualcomm unveiled this SoC on May 20. It is superior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in every way.The primary difference between the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 is that the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 is mass produced on TSMC’s effective 4nm technology.

The greatest improvement in performance and power efficiency was brought about by Qualcomm switching foundries from Samsung to TSMC, making it the ideal silicon for the Galaxy S23 FE.

Given that Samsung’s flagship Exynos line is currently not being produced, a global launch may benefit the company’s sales because potential customers are already familiar with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 from earlier models.

Samsung is not currently considering using the normal Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy S23 FE since doing so would cost more money from Qualcomm than getting the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. Second, if the most recent rumour proves to be true, it would have been the best business move because employing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will undercut the Galaxy S23 series and harm Samsung’s sales.

Regarding the pricing, that is a factor we are not yet aware of. Given that the Galaxy S23 series starts at $799.99 in the United States, Samsung can charge perhaps $150 less, bringing the total for the Galaxy S23 FE to $649.99, if we’re lucky. It’s possible that the Korean producer keeps costs down by charging clients $699.99.
