Premium Android tablets have been relatively rare in recent years, with most high-end options coming from Samsung. Lenovo is looking to change that with two new models: the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 and the Legion Tab Gen 5.
Announced at MWC 2026, both tablets bring flagship-level hardware to the Android ecosystem, targeting productivity-focused users and mobile gamers.
Idea Tab Pro Gen 2: Large Screen, Flagship Performance

The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is positioned as a powerful, productivity-focused tablet with a design reminiscent of a Surface-style device(but running Android).
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and offers:
- Up to 12GB RAM
- Up to 512GB internal storage
- microSD card supports up to 2TB
The display is a 13-inch 3.5K LCD panel with a 3504 × 2190 resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Lenovo will also offer a Matte Edition with an anti-glare coating designed to reduce reflections.
Other hardware highlights include:
- 10,200mAh battery
- 45W charging via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C
- Quad JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos
- Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6
- 8MP front camera and 12MP rear camera
Lenovo will sell optional accessories, including a keyboard dock, folio case, and stylus.
The tablet will ship with Android 16 and is promised updates through Android 18, along with four years of security patches.
Pricing starts at $419, with availability expected in July 2026.
Legion Tab Gen 5: Built for Mobile Gaming

The Legion Tab (8.8", Gen 5) is designed primarily for mobile gaming.
It features:
- 8.8-inch 3K display (3040 × 1904)
- 165Hz refresh rate
- 600 nits peak brightness
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor
- Up to 16GB RAM
- 512GB storage
- 9,000mAh battery
The smaller size, combined with the high refresh rate and flagship processor, positions the Legion Tab as a dedicated Android gaming tablet.
The Legion Tab Gen 5 will launch in May 2026 with a starting price of $849.
What Lenovo’s New Tablets Mean for the Android Market
With these two releases, Lenovo is reinforcing its presence in the premium Android tablet space at a time when direct competition is still relatively limited.
The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 offers high-end specs at a relatively aggressive price point, while the Legion Tab Gen 5 targets users who want top-tier gaming performance in a compact form factor.
For users looking beyond iPads and Galaxy Tabs, Lenovo’s latest tablets significantly expand the range of flagship Android options available in 2026.
