We are less than 24 hours away from AMD‘s CES 2022 showcase and AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su has just given us a teaser of what to expect. We already know that Ryzen 6000 APUs are going to headline the show along with a few GPU announcements thanks to various leaks and reports. Now, thanks to a tweet, the company’s CEO has given us our first official look at Rembrandt before the official announcement.
Happy New Year and welcome to 2022! We are kicking off the year with lots of new tech – hope you will join us for our #AMD2022 Product Premiere on January 4th at 7am PT: https://t.co/ixOLhxjkuM pic.twitter.com/DT0pXHiLXw

The APU seen held by Dr. Lisa is actually the same one we covered a few days ago where we saw it inside an Alienware m17 R5 laptop. These new Ryzen 6000 APUs will be manufactured on TSMC‘s 6nm process and come with refreshed Zen 3+ cores that offer notable performance improvements. But, by far the most exciting thing is the addition of RDNA 2 graphics.
Rembrandt will be the first AMD Ryzen lineup of processor equipped with integrated graphics powered by the RDNA 2 architecture. This will bring along substantial improvements in graphical fidelity, as well as major efficiency bumps thanks to getting rid of the outdated Vega architecture.
And that’s not the only thing that Rembrandt will the first to do. The flagship Ryzen 9 6980HX SKU is said to have a boost clock of 5.0Ghz, finally breaking that coveted barrier and being the first-ever Ryzen chip to do so. Moreover, the new Ryzen 6000 processors will also be packaged on a new socket, named “FP7” which is largely similar to the current-gen FP6 socket. This will allow Rembrandt to have full DDR5 and PCIe Gen4 support.
AMD will make the Ryzen 6000 series of APUs official tomorrow at their CES 2022 press conference where we’ll also see new Radeon RX 6000M mobile GPUs and two new desktop GPUs. The show begins at precisely 7am PT on January 4th, so don’t miss out!
