YouTube Now Lets Users Completely Hide Shorts From Their Feed

YouTube is now allowing users to set the Shorts feed limit to zero minutes, which effectively removes the Shorts section from the feed. This option is available to all users, including standard adult accounts, and is part of a wider rollout, according to a YouTube spokesperson cited by The Verge.

The change builds on a Shorts time limit control that YouTube introduced earlier this year. Initially, users could set a daily Shorts viewing limit with a minimum of 15 minutes. The zero-minute option was not available at launch but was indicated as a future addition.

How YouTube’s Zero-Minute Shorts Limit Works

When the limit is set to zero minutes, the Shorts section no longer appears in the YouTube feed. Previously, users saw a message indicating they had "reached your Shorts feed limit" when a time restriction was hit. With zero minutes selected, Shorts simply do not show up, rather than being blocked after a certain point.

How to Enable It

This setting can be found in the Time Management section of the Settings menu in the YouTube mobile app. Users who do not see the zero-minute option right away should expect it to be rolled out gradually.

YouTube has not provided a specific timeline for when the feature will be available on all accounts.
